Walworth Barbour American International School (Israel)

Dear Search Colleagues, 

On behalf of the Board and Search Committee of Walworth Barbour American International School in Israel, we are pleased to share that Keith Lefebvre has been appointed Superintendent beginning in August 2027.

Mr. Lefebvre is currently the Superintendent of Education for the Bluewater District School Board in Chesley, Ontario, a position he has held since 2020. The Bluewater District School Board serves 18,900 students in 41 elementary schools and nine secondary schools.  Mr. Lefebvre has also held leadership positions within the Bluewater District School Board, including Student Achievement and Technology Learning Lead, and has served as a school principal for 12 years. 

Mr. Lefebvre earned a B.Ed. in Mathematics and Economics, and a Special Education Certificate from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. 

In a communication to the WBAIS community, the Board Chair shared the following regarding the appointment of Keith Lefebvre as Superintendent. "This decision follows a thoughtful and comprehensive search process that included extensive engagement with members of our school community. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the parents, students, faculty, staff, and leadership team members who invested their time in meeting with finalists, attending community forums, participating in interviews, and providing valuable feedback. Your perspectives played an important role in helping the Search Committee and Board evaluate the strengths, experiences, and leadership qualities of each candidate. 

Throughout the process, Keith impressed us with his commitment to student learning, his relational leadership style, his understanding of effective teaching and learning, and his ability to build strong and trusting communities.  We believe he is well positioned to lead WBAIS into its next chapter while continuing to strengthen the culture of learning, innovation, and community that defines our school."
