Secondary Principal

Dear Search Associates Colleagues,

On behalf of the American International School of Guangzhou (AISG) Search Committee, we are pleased to announce that Ms. Laura Earwood has been appointed as the new Secondary Principal beginning in July 2026.

Ms. Earwood is currently serving as the Assistant Principal at Bellarmine College Preparatory, San Jose, California. Prior to this role, she was the Dean of Students at UWC Atlantic College, Wales. She also worked as the Assistant Principal at United World College, ISAK Japan where she founded and launched an innovative blended residential life model, nurturing students’ personal, social, and intercultural growth. She has also held the position as Vice Chair, Committee Member of the UWC-USA Health and Wellness Committee. She holds an M.A. in Educational Leadership and Management from Nottingham University as well as a PGCE from the same institution. She earned a B.A. from the University of Bedfordshire, UK.

The AISG Search Committee selected Ms. Earwood from a highly experienced and qualified group of candidates based on her considerable past leadership experience in education on a global level. Mr. Jamie Robb, Deputy Director and Chair of the AISG Secondary Principal Search Committee, shared the following about Ms. Earwood’s candidacy and appointment: We are excited to welcome Laura Earwood to the American International School of Guangzhou as our next secondary principal. Laura’s proven international leadership in IB schools, combined with her commitment to global citizenship, innovation, holistic student development, and service learning, makes her an outstanding addition to the AISG RamNation community. We look forward to the impact of her leadership in shaping the future of our secondary school, collaborating with our caregiver community, and inspiring both students and faculty.

Ms. Earwood is eager to join AISG and looks forward to serving as the next Secondary Principal. In response to her appointment, Ms. Earwood shared the following: I am deeply honored to join the American International School of Guangzhou as the next Secondary Principal. Throughout the search process, I was inspired by AISG’s strong sense of community, its commitment to academic excellence, and its care for the whole child. I look forward to working collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and families to build on the school’s many strengths and to support meaningful learning, well-being, and belonging across the secondary school.
