High School Principal
Carol Morgan School, Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic)

Dear Search Associates Colleagues,

On behalf of Carol Morgan School in the Dominican Republic and their Head of School Dr. Brian Kelly, I am pleased to announce that Matthew Beata has been appointed as their new High School Principal beginning in August 2025.

Matt brings over 30 years of experience in education, 20 of them in leadership roles.  Currently he holds the position of Headmaster of the Uruguayan American School, where he has served since 2015.  Prior to that, Matt was the Middle School Principal at the International School Nido de Aguilas in Santiago, Chile.  He holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Lehigh University as well as one in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan.  He also earned his International School Leadership Certification from the Principal’s Training Center.

As Dr. Kelly noted in his announcement to the community, Matthew is well-equipped to lead our high school. His expertise in balancing academic rigor with social-emotional learning and his passion for fostering collaborative school communities make him an excellent fit for our school.  Matthew’s leadership philosophy is rooted in the belief that every member of the school community plays a vital role in a child’s education. As a facilitator and collaborator, he aims to empower teachers and staff to excel while fostering accountability and a sense of shared purpose. His commitment to creating inclusive, engaging, and academically challenging environments aligns perfectly with Carol Morgan School's vision.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Matthew brings a global perspective combined with a deep understanding of the local context. He is eager to join the Carol Morgan community, where he will contribute his expertise, strong work ethic, and collaborative approach to furthering their shared mission of academic excellence and holistic student development.
